‘There is something about Paris,’ says a wonderful friend of mine.
‘There is something bigger, there is something about Ritz Paris,’ I responded.
Its etched in my memory.
As you may very well know that the legendary hotel has finally closed its doors in August 2012 – don’t worry it’s not forever – but for renovations!
The glamour, lifestyle, run-ins with celebrities, royalty treatment, the 2-start Michelin restaurant L’Espande, the House of Chanel across the street, Place Vendome, the walk to the prestigious Faubourg-St. Honore, are some of the many reasons I am anxiously waiting for Ritz to open its doors again.
Sharing with you the photo spread Vogue Paris featured a while ago…so those who missed it, check out the treat below!
I have explored the charismatic city’s glamour and gourmet all on my own. The city has so much to fill your desire, you just need to know where to look for it. I bet it will leave you mesmerized!
Travel tip: vacation in Paris should be solo!

I am about to start my travel plans for this year. As I reflect on some of my earlier stays, I wanted to share my favorite designer hotels! The choice of hotel and its location is key – ask anyone who has accompanied me and they will tell you I can move mountains to select the ‘it’ hotel! Nothing beats coming back to a hotel room you fell in love with at first sight, after a long and tiring day. What’s a holiday without a bit of pampering! Here is a glimpse, but dig in to see what your favorite designer has in store for you at one of these locations. So, you have what it takes to embrace these unique design concepts?
My personal favorite is the Bulgari Hotels!
1. Bulgari Hotel – Bali, www.bulgarihotels.com
2. Armani Hotel – Dubai, dubai.armanihotels.com
3. Le Bellechasse Saint Germain – Paris, www.lebellechasse.com
4. Hotel Missoni – Kuwait, www.hotelmissoni.com
5. Maison Moschino – Milan, www.maisonmoschino.com
…here is my humble wish list for Valentine’s 2013…you have less than 24 hours to surprise me! Good luck.
A loop shank sapphire ring
Isabela Marant sneakers, in size 7.5
A trip to Spain, to explore history at the Alhambra Palace in Cordoba
A vintage Rolex
Study of horses by Leonardo da Vinci
A Hermes silk scarf
Hmm…and if nothing else works, then just the lovely Warm Buddy will do! It’s about time, I got my own!
So, while the rest of the world is engrossed in watching the NY Fashion Week for the obvious, I am afraid I was watching for my favorite to be revealed – Loafers of the season!
Glad to have this preppy look back, with a dress or with pants.
Here is my number 1 must-have!
…and others who also made my most wanted list:
The European princess, the love affairs, the worldly stories, the personal history…all still so captivating.
Its fascinating each time you dig into the history of the two sisters – Jackie + Lee. I spent my day wrapped up in it.
“She regulates her life by standards inbuilt by experience, by nurturing her friendships, by staying true, by her irony, her humor – all qualities that show she is the real deal.”
I simply love biographies. They help us understand why passionate people leave a footprint!
Is it at all possible to emulate this icon?
